Adoption Process

Puppy Inquiry:

Please feel free to contact us via email with any questions or concerns. We want you to feel good about choosing the breeder for your future dog. Our breeding dogs are tested at the GANA blue ribbon level. We encourage you to explore the GANA website to learn the benefits of purchasing a puppy from a GANA breeder.

Getting To Know You:

Please let us know what puppy preferences you may have if you have chosen us as your breeder. We would also like to know a bit about you & your family. Please take a few minutes to answer these questions on the Puppy Inquiry Quiz linked button above.

 

Reserving a Spot on the Waiting List for a Pleasant Lake Doodle:

If you are approved to be added to a litter’s upcoming or current waiting list, a $500 deposit will go towards the purchase price required in order to reserve a puppy. If the litter does not produce a desirable puppy, a refund will be honored if the request is made within the first week of the first pictures being posted; otherwise, deposits are non-refundable. However, you do have a one time option of transferring the deposit to a future litter.

 

Pricing:
Your Pleasant Lake Puppy comes from amazing lines of fully health tested parents & wonderful, loving temperaments! Our Pleasant Lake Doodles are $3,000 (regardless of size, gender or coloring, Puppies come with a 2 year health guarantee & are sold on a strict spay/neuter contract.). The $500 down payment will go towards the total price of your puppy. We accept the following forms of payment: Cash (the day of puppy pick up), check (which must be submitted 2 weeks prior to going home date), or Venmo.

Please note that, as the breeder, we reserve the right to refuse any sale at any time and also to retain a puppy for the continuation of our breeding program. In this case, you would be refunded your money paid to Pleasant Lake Doodles.

 

Picking Your Puppy:

Choosing your puppy will be honored in the order deposits are received. Those on the deposit list will be informed of the puppy picking day once temperament testing is scheduled (when puppies are between 6-7 weeks old). Your Pleasant Lake Puppy will have the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test done. This will help place the best temperament that would fit best with you & your family. Puppy Picking will follow after temperament testing has been completed. We will also schedule the day & time for you to bring your puppy home. 

 

Preparing for Your Puppy to Come Home:

Your puppy has been fed Life’s Abundance Premium All Life Stages dog food. We will supply you with a sample. Your puppy has also been given a daily vitamin by NuVet Immune Builder. Your puppy has been acclimated to a wire crate. 

 

Taking Your Puppy Home:

Your puppy will be ready to go home at 8 weeks old. We will schedule your puppy take home day when I call you with puppy temperament testing results. On pick up day, you will receive the following:

1. A freshly bathed puppy that has been raised love & socialization

2. Temperament testing to help you select a puppy that will thrive in your home.

3. A puppy that has been microchipped, up to date on vaccinations & deworming.

4. Signed copy of the Health Warranty/Purchase Agreement & record of the veterinarian visit including vaccinations & deworming schedule.

5. Photos & video taken of your puppy, emailed upon request

6. Lifetime support of your puppy, including a private FB group of Pleasant Lake Doodle puppies as an option for you to see past puppies or pictures of your puppy’s littermates.

7. Free Puppy Gift bag including a Snuggle Puppy* & blanket with littermates scent to help your puppy adjust to his/her new home, a chew toy & a folder with instructions for the first days home, veterinary record including shots & deworming schedule. *You may want to purchase extra heat packs for the Snuggle Puppy (which comes with one heat pack).
